Minutes from August 29, 2005

Mayor Burgess called the meeting to order with the following Council Members present: Angela Porter, Anne Peppers, David Terry and Traysa Price. Also present were City Manager Doug White and City Clerk Susan Roper.

Guests present were: Molly Lundy, Jeff Johnson, Hal Dally, Betty Ray, Grady Lemonds, Bill Thornton, Frank Sherrill, Nancy Kinsey, attorney, attorney and Joy Scarbrough.

Mayor Burgess led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

The attorney for the project (distribution center) reviewed the Inducement Agreement for Mayor and Council. After little discussion Council Member Terry made a motion, seconded by Council Member Price to authorize Mayor Burgess to execute the Inducement Agreement presented. All were in favor.

Mayor Burgess thanked Grady Lemonds and the Development Authority for their hard work on this project and thanked Nancy Kinsey as well.

Nancy Kinsey, Executive Director of the Walton Council Economic Development Authority added that there had been great community spirit on this project.
